Six ways a rug is made
The Craft
From Fiber to Finished Rug
Six stages, each done by hand, before a rug ever leaves Bhadohi — the same yarn and dye vats shown here.
Spin
Raw wool fiber is spun into yarn by hand.
Dye
Yarn is dyed in small batches to match your reference.
Knot or Tuft
Woven knot by knot on a loom, or tufted with a gun.
Wash
Washed to open the pile and set the colour.
Carve & Trim
Pile is carved and trimmed for texture and a clean edge.
Inspect & Roll
Checked against your sample, then rolled by hand.
The craft
Filmed in our workshop
No staging. This is how your rug is made, from the dye vat to the final stitch.

FAQ
Questions we are often asked
What's your minimum order quantity?
It depends on the construction method — a hand-knotted run takes more to justify than a hand-tufted one. Tell us the quantity you have in mind and we'll confirm whether it works, or what the realistic minimum is.
Can you match a size, color, or pattern we already sell?
Yes — send us the spec or a reference image. Sizing, colorway, and pattern are adjusted per order, not picked from a fixed catalog.
Do you ship directly to our warehouse, or do we need a freight forwarder?
We handle direct export, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs documentation, to destinations across the US and Europe.
What do you need from us to quote a sample?
Construction type, approximate size, and a reference image or pattern if you have one. We'll come back with sample pricing and a production timeline.
